I voted yes because I always thought of PB as one of those shows with a limited lifetime. There are actually times when I thought that even a second season was a mistake and that it very well could have ended right after the first season. The original break-out premise was mostly finished then and continuing despite that brings the danger of just unnecessarily stretching out the story.
My vote however has nothing to do with the Sara situation since I never was a big fan of her (though killing her is still a big mistake IMO).
Anyway, as contradictory as it may sound, I'm still glad we got a third season since I'm kinda attached to the show.

I'm on the fence on this one I hope this season is the last though.
I just hope ti ends with Michael and Linc taking down the Company and giving the power back to the people and there greeted as Heroes.

This is my thread!

Of course I think that this season was a mistake and absolutely not necessary. One of the big problems from series and movies of today is that they don't know the right time to find a proper ending. For Prison Break it was obviously S2. Absouletly every issue that attached the viewers to the show was solved and instead they created completely ridiculous ones.

I think that the Sona-plot would make much more sense if it would be Abruzzi wanting that Michael gets someone out there, instead of the 'powerful' Company. The plot is simply getting more and more unbelievalbe as far as the show goes on. And I think that for people who watch this show because they are attached to the characters it is painful to watch what they do to them just to create some ridiculous twists to keep them on the show.

i just tied up the vote.

no it wasnt a mistake in my opinion. we cant get enough of PB! lol i mean, so far season 3 has a good plot. there are still things that need to be solved (Linc and LJ back together, karma biting ppl in the butt, etc lol) anyways, its good so far. i dont think it was mistake.

My sig kind of describes what i think.

And Speedy, i just read your paragraphs and i totally disagree with you.
Well, i agree with the fact that yes if you get tottally atached to the characters, it does make it harder to watch. But i completely disagree with Season 3 being a mistake. I think that Sona is going to be such a new plot, and as a Linc fan it kind of takes the attention of Michael and Sarah becuase of her death. Michael was way to over rated in this program and tbh i agree with the fact that they could have handled her death a little more carefully rather than a head in the box.....

Basically im saying, its going to be interesting about how they are going to show Michael's feelings throught the show, and how everybody is going to cope. Oooh and alot of people say Season 3 is a mistake, then why watch it?

I don´t think season 3 was a mistake either!! the only thing i regret about it was all this sarah thing! and i think starting to throw blame around isn´t gonna get us anywhere, she is already dead, and isn´t coming back, because she doesn´t want to! and of course the writers could have dealt with the situation a lot better, than stuffing her head in a box ( that clearly sends a message), and don´t think wanting to kill her in the fist place, for motivation was a good idea. And i certanly understand her position, but she also showed a little bit of resentfulness and some lack of professionalism, by not giving the writers a lot of options, showing that she also didn´t had much regard for the fans.
But anyway, choices were made, life goes on, let´s see where it takes prison break now. I´m very sad about it make no mistake, but i certanly won´t stop watching, because bottom line, its a good story, and a story i love ( now a little less of course) but stil love!

Well, I am going to explain my opinion in other words. I think that there are two different point of views about Prison Break. One is that it is a great show and the other is that it is also a great story.

What makes Prison Break a great show are things like action, surprising twists, creative storylines, exciting characters, talented actors, etc. What makes Prison Break a great story are things like good story telling and characters that make us feel attached to them emotionally.

So I absolutely agree with you when you say that "Sona is going to be such a new plot" and that it is going to be awesome. Prison Break is still a great show, because it has creative writers. But it stopped definitely for me to be a great story. Some character plotlines became so ridiculous, that I stopped taking it serious and caring for this characters. And my opinion has nothing to do with Sara's death, but it is a tendency that I am feeling since the end of the last season. I simply stopped empahtizing for the characters and only watch it for entertainig porpuses.

Basically the big problem that I (and many others) have with S3 is that the TPTB gave to the story around minute 30 of "Sona" such a perfect happy-end, that it became frustrating how they ruined it with Kim pointing the gun at the brothers. I still belong the people who think that a great end of a story is so important like the story itself. But they took it from us in the end of S2.

EmoGilly wrote:Oooh and alot of people say Season 3 is a mistake, then why watch it?

Because we want to see how it ends. But whatever will be the end, it will never be better then how they could have ended the show in "Sona". As longer a show goes on, more characters die. And most of us want to see archive them their goals.

Hmm, I see what you mean, Speedy. You make good points. But (referring to your sig) I dont think season 3 is Whistler's story.

I think this story is still about Linc getting his life back. That was the entire point of the show, no? But, it would have been boring had they just reunited Linc and LJ and MiSa and w/e. Another Prison Break is kinda what they needed. All that running in S2 needed another break out.

I dont mean to pick on people, but why has this suddenly become an issue right when Sara died? Coincidence or not? I dunno. lol

I know this is all opinionated, and no one is gonna change anyone's mind, but I just thought I'd express mine too. :)

Well, I changed by sig no. I found a way of enjoying S3 without taking it serious, ;)

As I see in your icon you are a Lincoln-Fan, so it doesn't surprise. But I can assure you that it was never the originally point of the show. I saw in "Making of" from Prison Break that they only created the Lincoln character to give Michael a reason to go into a prison and break out. Michael Scofield was the only original main character and all others (including Lincoln, Sara, Veronica, LJ, etc.) where only created to make the show complete.
